Discover the Novel's Essence

Not every truth sets you free.

Some destroy everything.

A man trying to outrun his past.
A truth someone wants buried.

As the past resurfaces, a chain of events is set in motion that pulls him into a world of deception, power, and consequences he can’t control.

From the streets of London to the canals of Amsterdam, the line between truth and survival begins to blur.

And when the truth finally emerges… it may not be enough.

Sometimes The Truth Is Not Enough began life as a screenplay in 2007. By 2008, it was in active development, with production on the horizon, until the financial crash brought everything to a halt.

Funding disappeared, the project collapsed, and despite years of trying to revive it, the story was left behind.

I moved on, stepping away from filmmaking and into the art world, building a gallery and a new career. But once again, external forces intervened. Rising costs following Brexit made the business unsustainable.

Through it all, this story never left.

Filmmaking had taught me compromise, budgets, cuts, limitations. Writing a novel offered something different: complete freedom. No constraints. No one saying what couldn’t be done.

So I brought it back. This time, exactly as it was meant to be.

Partway through writing, I travelled to Amsterdam and recorded key scenes on location using binaural audio, capturing the sound of the city in full 360 degrees.

It was chaotic, disorienting, and at times dangerous, but it brought the world of the story to life in a way nothing else could.

This version of the story is the one that survived.
